Chances are you have your family vacations planned for the summer. But, if Big Sky is on your list, here’s 5 things you must do!
1. Zip Line!
Okay, I was so scared to do this and I am so glad we did. I was mostly nervous for my beautiful children. Being strapped to a zip line and flying over a raging river. But, these guys know what their doing. I mean if you’re gonna zip line, do it in a beautifully scary place right?
You walk across sky bridges to and from tree platforms (a little unnerving) and do 3 crazy fun beautiful zips! We had folks all ages from my little 7 year old to several grandmas! Fun Fun!

2. Go Fly Fishing
My husband and son had a great half-day fly fishing adventure. It was an intro class from a top notch guide with a quick dry land casting practice and familiarizing with the gear. Then, they headed over to a prime fishing hole on the Gallatin River and caught tons of fish. If you like fishing at all, you’ve gotta do this. It’s famous for being one of the best fly fishing areas in the country. For ages 6 and up.
Fun Fact: The Gallatin river is famous for A River Runs Through It.

3. Hike Ousel Falls
This is a pretty easy 1.6 mile hike near the Gallatin Gateway that my daughter and I did together. At the bottom of the basin is the beautiful Ousel Falls. Can get hot in the afternoon so throw on your fleece and do this in the morning.
4. Eat Dinner at Bucks T-4
This award winning restaurant is famous for making wild game taste fantastic. This was the best meal we had on our whole trip!

5. Take the Ski Lift to Lunch at Everett’s 8,800
This is a unique experience where you’ll take a ski lift over green grass to get to a restaurant. You do buy a ski lift but it’s not as expensive as if you were actually skiing. The restaurant is a stop for skiers and open during the summer for lunch. It’s fun to watch mountain bikers hop off the lifts, jump on their bikes and tear down the mountain.
Everett’s has great Americana food and drinks and cool seating with pillows everywhere! Super comfy. My daughter and I had fun doing this.

All in all, if you’re looking to travel north over the summer, I thought I would list 5 things you must do in Big Sky Montana. It is the perfect place to either be adventurous or sit on your back porch with gorgeous views, have a glass of wine and enjoy the crisp mountain air. We did both!
Happy Travels!
