Nothing makes your mouth water more than beet juice! Right?
Well, all sarcasm aside, this beet juice tastes wonderful and it is packed with fruits and vegetables.
A few years ago, I asked for a juicer for Christmas and I have to say, it’s well-loved. All the rubber on it is stained orange from carrots, beets and all the other veggies I throw in there. I’ve bought fresh squeezed juice before and I’m afraid to admit, I choke down a few sips and throw it out. Ick.
But, I’ve played around with my juicer and made some great tasting juices. They are the real deal. No added sugar. Just vitamins in a glass.
This recipe includes a couple of superfoods, kale and beets. Kale is rich in vitamins K, vitamin A, and vitamin C. It’s also used as a detox, provides heart support and cancer prevention.
Beets are not only vitamin rich, they improve stamina, reduce heart disease, help to lower blood pressure, and naturally detoxify our bodies as well.
So, here’s what you need…
3 cups of kale, 2 carrots, 1 beet and 1 apple.
I don’t know why beets have to be so friggin dirty, but no matter where you shop they look like they were pulled straight out of the ground and plopped in produce. So, scrub the heck out of them with a stiff vegetable brush.
As far as apples go, the only thing you have to remove is the stem. You can hack it up and juice the rest. Seeds and all. In fact the seeds add concentrated fiber.
Now, chop your veggies small enough that they’ll fit in the juicer. No, need to chop the kale.
Start juicing it up!
Put, in your kale first. You can shove the whole thing in with the plunger, then add the rest of the veggies. I swear that kale made about a 1/2 cup of juice. Wow!
Now, run it until nothing comes out for 30 seconds or so.
Here you go! You can’t get more nutritious than this.
