Cabo

Cabo

Last year my husband and I got a big group together and went to Cabo.  It was somewhere I’d always wanted to go, so like most places, if we’re going, we’re gonna do it right!  As usual, I did a ton of research and planning for this trip.  Next time we go back, I’d probably go to all the same places!  And this is more of a ceviche and nice cocktail vacation, not the booze cruise type you would experience in other places in Mexico.  The beaches are fabulous so no seaweed tangles on your ankles and big crowds (something we experienced in Cozumel–yuck!)

So, here’s the lowdown!

Where to Stay

One&Only Palmilla

Cabo

The One&Only is considered the best resort in Mexico.  Its grounds and location cannot be beat.  You’re definitely in an oasis.  If you’re looking for a honeymoon destination, anniversary trip or just a fantastic getaway, don’t go anywhere else.  I promise you won’t be disappointed!  If this is Jennifer Aniston’s favorite place in the world to stay, you know it’s gotta be good!

Rent a villa anywhere in the Palmilla area

Cabo

VRBO.com

You have access to the Palmilla beach, the best in Cabo.  You can use a golf cart to get around anywhere in the area.  There’s a fantastic beach club nearby with great ceviche and drinks that is golf cart distance away.  Most of the houses have housekeeping and you always have the option to hire a chef or cook to come by and cook whenever you would like, which I totally recommend if you have a big group!

Things to do…

Palmilla Beach

This is a sandy beautiful beach with paddle boarding, snorkeling, and sipping a great mojito of course!  It is not crowded at all.

Snorkel Cruise

Cabo

Sunrider Tours

While you’re at it… book a snorkel cruise and see the arches!  There’s tons out there, but we wanted one that wasn’t crowded.  This was just us and they served a great lunch and kept the drinks flowing.  The snorkeling was pretty good, not fantastic.  But, I would still recommend it.

Eating

Flora’s Field Kitchen at Flora Farms

Cabo

This was by far our favorite restaurant in Cabo!   It’s organic farm to table and completely open aired.  The food is so fresh and fantastic.  You can walk the beautiful grounds of Flora Farms and grab some bourbon caramel ice cream, buy high end Mexican home goods or go to the tasting room at El Wine Bar y Cafe. This is like no other and shouldn’t be missed!  Reservations are definitely needed months in advance.

At the One&Only, this is a beautiful open aired restaurant seaside that is a little more on the casual side but doesn’t lack luxury!  The service and food is fantastic with Mexican cuisine.  Great wine list as well.  This is one of our favorites! (All my pics were too dark, so I had to use one of theirs.)

The Office on the Beach

Cabo

The Office is a fun place to relax with a big group for lunch and a great bloody mary.  Your table is on the beach so take off your shoes and dig your toes in the sand while you hang out with friends!

Cooking Service we Recommend

Mia’s Delights

Mia will come to your villa and cook you a delicious Mexican meal.  We had her come a couple of times. Once for breakfast and dinner.  Totally worth it if you have a big group.  You book with her online and pick your menu.  You can do plated meals or buffet.  They’ll even make you drinks and homemade guacamole and chips while you wait!  There’s usually leftovers they’ll pack up for you that you can work on during your trip!

Cabo is so much fun!  If you’re looking into a beach vacation soon, you definitely need to look into it!  It’s easy to get to and you can avoid college crowds or just big crowds in general.  The beaches are beautiful and definitely better than anywhere else in Mexico.

Happy Travels!
