Sometimes when we’re getting ready to workout we need a little kick in the arse before. Our energy levels are low. Either we’re rundown from too much stress or not enough sleep. But, don’t want to eat anything too too heavy right? This is a light pick-me-up that will give you energy, but not feel too jittery. A good pre-workout smoothie is perfect!
Eggs are great protein, but they’re kinda heavy in the tummy. You can’t really chow down on a large omelet and then go do inversions in yoga.
Matcha is my new favorite green tea. It has calming energy and it doesn’t make you nauseous like green tea can. So, it’s a bit subdued but not without all the antioxidants.
Take your awesome blender and pour in 1 cup of your favorite milk along with 1 banana, 2 teaspoons of matcha powder, juice from 1/2 of lemon, 3/4 cup of cubed pineapple and 1/2 cup of ice cubes. Blend until smooth.
The pineapple and matcha make a perfect pair! It’s so refreshing and makes a great summer smoothie. Plus, pineapple is really good this year!
Enjoy this smoothie whether you’re going for a run or just hanging out on the couch with a good book. Either way, it’s a refreshingly light and tasty treat that happens to give you energy.

- 1/2 lemon juice
- 3/4 cup pineapple
- 1/2 cup ice cubes
