I honestly never tried kale until a few years ago and I thought it was a big fad. How can it be any better than spinach. Well, I tried it and hated it because it’s so bitter. But, if you can prepare it a certain way…say…kale chips. They’re pretty good! Kale vs. spinach. They both have phytochemicals and vitamin A, phosphate, and B vitamins. But… spinach actually has more potassium and folate. So welp, kale is more of a fad....

Most of us love sweet potatoes and know how to roast them in the oven with a little salt and pepper. Here’s an easy way to add a little kick. With garam masala roasted sweet potatoes, your house will smell fabulous and it’s just a couple more ingredients that makes this recipe a super duper fast side dish to just about any meat. People laugh at me because I find that stopping what I’m doing to eat lunch annoying. While the kids are at school, I’m usually running errands, working out and of course blogging! So, I definitely don’t want a time-consuming lunch to make. That’s why a quick meal like chicken salad is perfect. Just scoop it onto a plate, add some crackers and you’re done. Low country boil is a great weekday recipe because it is very quick and easy. My sister and her husband lived in Savannah, Georgia for a while where I first had this. She brought in a big container of spices she bought at a farmers market and after a great meal on newspaper I was hooked. It’s become a family staple and when the kids find out we’re having low country boil they get excited. Always a good thing! I’ve used...

Years ago, I was watching Oprah and she was raving about this turkey burger she tried. She said it was the best burger she’d had and even shared the recipe. I immediately downloaded it and I’ve been making it ever since. But, there were quite a few ingredients in it. For the sake of time and sanity I’ve streamlined the recipe over the years so it’s much easier, but kept the key ingredients. I can’t tell a difference in taste at all...
