As you can tell I’m a big fan of smoothies. I have to have restraint not to post every one I make. Pretty much every day I have smoothie in the afternoon. This one I call tropical because it’s got your mango and pineapple. Of course I threw in some turmeric.
Like all my smoothies this was made with stuff I had available. It turned out awesome! I’m remembering this one for sure.
Right now pineapples taste like candy, so you definitely need to pick one up next time you’re at the store. I’ll cut up a big fresh pineapple when they’re in season and leave it on the counter for the kids and most of it gets devoured. But, it makes a lot, so I had extra.
My son loves loves mangoes and we can’t keep them around for long. He can cut up a mango better than most adults! So, I hid one for myself and my smoothie! It complimented the turmeric wonderfully!
The blend of flavors between the turmeric root, mango and pineapple were fantastic! The hemp adds a good dose of protein–something you always want to add in your smoothies to balance out the sugar so you don’t crash close to dinner and overeat. If you don’t have hemp around, you can always use raw almonds or some chia seeds.
Alright, for the smoothie, first pour in your milk. Most blenders have a measurement guide on the side so you don’t have to measure how much.
Then, peel your turmeric and throw it in along with pineapple, mango, hemp, 1/2 a banana and a handful of ice. FYI–You don’t really need the ice if your banana is frozen. Blend in a high powered blender, such as a Vitamix and slurp it up!
Hope you enjoy this tasty treat! I’m tagging the tropical turmeric smoothie as one of my favorites.
