If you haven’t heard of adaptogens, you will soon. They are the miracle herbs that not only relieve stress, but also increase energy and vitality as well as bring balance to our stress-ridden lives. (Read my upcoming article that delves into adaptogens in more detail).
Ashwagandha is one of the most powerful of the adaptogens. Also known as “Indian ginseng” it’s in the tomato family. It’s been used as a healing remedy for years, namely for stress, fatigue and the immune system.
These truffles are full of ashwagandha and other fantastic ingredients including strong anti-inflammatories like “golden milk”, which is a turmeric, ginger, cinnamon and coconut oil combo.
I’ve probably gotten my point across. These little truffles do a body good.
The only hard part about this recipe is you’ll need to make a trip to your local health food store. But, you’ll find everything there. But, you can also easily order nearly everything on Amazon (I have links below) as well as the hard to find ashwagandha.
I used the liquid and it easily mixed with everything else. No terrible aftertaste or anything.
Now, get out your food processor and throw everything in along with the almond butter. Run until smooth.
Cover the bowl and stick in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. Using wet hands form into 1 inch balls (or whatever sized truffles you want). I like them little so I can just pop them in my mouth. With the ingredients listed, you’d be surprised how tasty these little things are!
You can store them in an airtight container for up to a week and anytime you have a little chocolate craving you’ve got your little paleo truffles.
Finally, with our overly busy lives and the unnecessary stress we put on ourselves, besides lessoning up our loads, let’s incorporate some help with some powerful additions to our diets. Especially something as easy as this.
